Linda is “okay” now. Aside from the headaches, deafness, strange tingling in one arm, and actual pain when she puts her arm in one of several positions. She also has a morbid fear of pavements and hugs the buildings much like a mountaineer on a narrow ledge. Very Pythonesque. I have been advised, due to an ongoing legal “situation” not to mention the name of the company that owns the lorry that hit her. Nor the comments the driver made.
The get well wishes and comments from Wild Bunch drivers and organizers (and a very cool gesture by York Raceway) were brilliant and much appreciated. Mad as it might sound Linda was as down about missing the racing as being injured. Still, there was enough time until the next meeting for her to recover sufficiently to attend, if not actually race or do much physically. The superb Nostalgia Nationals at Shakey. We would gear up for that and make our debut there instead. At least, that’s what we thought...
